Ed Luker — "Moon Poem", 2020 [moon poem 3/3]

It is a drag
to tell your secrets
to the twilight hours
whispering close dream
and to have the moon
not let you go
to the land of sleep
                  as it keeps,
weighted & luminous,
pressing on your eyelids
through the brick wall.
Is it strange to call
the moon luminous?
I mean, what else?
It is the moon afterall.
So I wake, little else to do,
with the real morning
with the actual morning of
the absolute sky,
and drag myself
into the crisp
(im)mutability
of a song lighted
in the next air
from a distant
bird’s mouth.

Ed Luker — "Huge Moon", 2020 [moon poem 2/3]

I can’t
stop
thinking
about that
huge moon
morbid O

symptoms
littered
across
the sky

the air
stuffed,
a viral
ring or
crown,

O huge
moon
what is it
that you
want
from us?

Ed Luker — "Moon Bathing (after a night walk)", 2020 [moon poem 1/3]

Fucking hell,
did you
             see the moon
             last night?

Half asleep,
Andres
             knocked on
             my door.

We walked to
the marshes
with the dog
(named Luna)

                    bathing
                    in its blue

glowing ring

its big O, melancholy
on a stick in the sky.
